"YouTube" is a combination of two words: "You" and "Tube." "You" refers to the user, who is creating and uploading content to the platform, while "Tube" is a slang term for television, as YouTube was originally created as a platform for people to share and watch videos online, similar to traditional TV. The name was coined by the three co-founders of YouTube: Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim, who launched the platform in 2005.
